Overall, I did enjoy the series, but I caught myself skimming at some parts and there were a few issues that confused me.
Hot Secrets
I was hooked from the very beginning and I am in love with each and every Alpha Walker brother!
Full of angst and suspense and some quite steamy scenes as well!
Dangerous Secrets.
Luke has to be my favorite Walker so far. The angst and connection in this book kept me glued to my seat throughout the entire story.
Beneath The Secrets
I enjoyed the suspense and angst in Blake's book but I was left confused due to a name issue of Blake's fiancé that was mentioned in Luke's story.
That aside I did enjoy the connection between Kara and Blake.
Secrets Exposed
I enjoyed all of the intensity of Lindsey and Mark's story. Lisa Renee Jones knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat with her stories.
This collection is the first four books in the Tall, Dark and Deadly Series. A series that has plenty of heat, suspense, intrigue and alpha males to keep anyone interested. It revolves around the Walker brothers and their security business. Everyone working for them and them included has a background in military, law enforcement, special ops or security. They take hotness, suspense, intrigue and strong alpha male to a totally new level. I love that this collection. It contains the first 3 books of the series, but also the newest book Beneath the Secrets about the youngest Walker brother Blake. His brothers left their other careers to come home and start their security business to keep an eye on him because at any time they expected him to go off in a direction that could be all bad. Blake has only one thing on his mind and that is to get and seek revenge on the one person that destroyed his life. If that meant he got caught or killed in doing so then he could live with that, but as far as Blake was concerned there was nothing or no one that could stop him from doing what he had to do.
Lisa Renee Jones has done it again. I love the sexy Walker brothers! If you like books with mystery, Plenty of romance with steamy love scenes these books are for you. No cliffhangers! I must confess I fell hard for Blake and loved how all the brothers had their own book but were still main characters on the other books as well. You will fall in love for the Walker Brothers!
1st book I was OK with the female lead needing a protector.
2nd book I thought the female lead was an annoying idiot
By the time I got to the 3rd book and the prequel I realized it was the author who diminishes each females capabilities. Both Kara and Lindsay are FBI agents yet they are written as damsels who can't keep track of their heads without a man telling them what to do and how to do it.
Lindsay comes back from Vegas with Mark and immediately knows someone broke into her apartment, she pulls her gone to clear the house and the hands it over to Mark because he demands to make sure the house is safe. What FBI agent would hand a gun to a civilian? An untrained civilian at that. The author lives in a damsel in distress fantasy and is determined to put all females in the helpless category as well.
There are many books where authors have no problem writing about strong capable women who don't turn into sniveling helpless idiots who have strong alpha males secure enough in their manhood to love them for their strength. Something lacking in these books
This was a 5 star bunch of guys if ever. The Walker's are a dangerous trio of brothers.
"Hot Secrets" good plot, excellent mix of action and sex. I enjoyed the back story on how and why Walker Security came about - family! It gave depth and feeling to this close knit bunch.
"Dangerous Secrets" Lots of good build up for the ending , but the ending almost seemed a bit abrupt. Winding down took a couple of paragraphs, seemed like, and boom The End. I wasn't ready for that.
"Secrets Exposed", this was the bonus book. It was much better the just a "bonus" book. I went up/down, round & round, over and over all the clues, hints, etc for the killer. Almost thought I had it figured out only to hit a shocker at the end - total surprise. Thank you I really enjoyed that happening, doesn't happen that often and I love it when it does.
"Beneath the Secrets", Blakes story. I knew this was going to be a goody. Almost too much sex ( oh say it ain't so!) just about got in the way of the action. Blake does have a serious fixation for the F word, but then it fits him to a T. Kara got it right about testosterone over load when ya get all 3 brothers in the same room and she's the main focus. Glad she got steel in her spine and a temper to match.
So grab on to the book and enjoy. ~P~
I always love a story with characters that are complicated and conflicted. I love when the story takes turns I don't expect. And I love when an author can tie it up neatly and give me the ending and resolution I was hoping for. These stories all deliver that and more! I absolutely fell in love with every character and found myself wanting to be one of their friends as the books read on. If you're considering buying this set, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed. Fantastic job, Lisa! I absolutely cannot wait for Luke's story to arrive!!!
Really loved this series. The Walker brothers are a family like no other. Each of the four books had romance, love, loyalty and bravery to take on anything that endangered their lives and the ones they loved. This series kept you wanting more from the very first book and even after the last. Can't wait to read about Kyle and Myla next!
